Two Rochdalians were among the thousands recognised in this year's New Year's honours list. Olympic gold medal sailor Stuart Bithell was awarded an MBE, while Zoe Sutcliffe was awarded a British Empire Medal for services to the community in Rochdale during the Covid pandemic.
