The council's transport spokesperson has hit out at plans to make a temporary reduction in train services permanent. Councillor Phil Burke, who is Rochdale Council's representative on the Greater Manchester Transport Committee, criticised Northern Rail proposals to continue the reduction of services which was brought in during the height of the pandemic.
