The level of child poverty in Rochdale has been condemned as 'shocking' after a new report showed it to be one of the north west's worst hit areas. The findings by the UK's leading child poverty coalition show that more than 40 per cent of under-16s are living below the breadline in the borough - and in the worst areas, the figure is closer to 60 per cent.
