This written history came about after I was engaged in researching the history of my own house in Penkett Road and I noticed on the 1875 OS map of Liscard a large square structure, further along the road, which corresponded to the present day Eversley Nursery School. Due to its position well set back from the road and the surrounding field shapes how could it be anything else? However a contemporary newspaper report, of May 2000, on the opening of the nursery dated the old schoolhouse building to be 1901, so what was the 1875 structure – I just had to find out!
