Campaigners in Norden hope their fight will be boosted by a charity's national campaign. Last March the Friends of Heritage Green won their 18-month fight to stop the council selling off the plot at the corner of Caldershaw Road and and Cut Lane. Now they are trying to register the site as a village green, which would protect it against future development. And they hope their campaign will be assisted by the Open Spaces Society.
