A former soldier who was serving a life sentence for murder after killing a man with a carving fork died in hospital after having a heart attack, an inquest heard. David Kershaw, 47, from Darwen, Lancashire, was taken to Rochdale Infirmary on July 30 and referred to the Royal Oldham Hospital on August 7. While there he suffered a stroke and a heart attack, and he died at the hospital on August 17.
