Further to Harvey Kershaw's reference to an 'Old Inn located on the Littlewood/McDonalds site' in the Looking Back article on the Bull Brow on Saturday February 13, i can confirm it was the packhorse hotel and was owned by my great Grandfather James Butterworth.
